Everything you need to know about Edge Matrix and how it works.
Edge Matrix is a professional trading analysis tool that validates Expert Advisor (EA) and strategy backtests using Monte Carlo simulation, statistical analysis, and pattern detection. It helps traders determine whether their strategy has a genuine statistical edge or is curve-fitted to historical data.
Algorithmic traders, EA developers, prop firm traders, and anyone who wants to validate trading strategies before risking real capital. Whether you trade Forex, Gold, Indices, or Crypto — if you have a MetaTrader backtest, Edge Matrix can analyze it.
Edge Matrix combines Monte Carlo simulation with professional-grade statistical methods including MinTRL (minimum track record length), Sharpe ratio validation, martingale pattern detection, and optimization period analysis based on peer-reviewed research. Most tools only show basic metrics — Edge Matrix provides statistical context for what those metrics actually mean.
Edge Matrix is designed primarily for algorithmic traders and EA developers who have structured backtest data to analyze. Manual traders who maintain a trade journal in a compatible format may also find value in the statistical analysis features.
No. Edge Matrix is a statistical analysis tool. It evaluates historical backtest data using quantitative methods but does not predict future performance or provide investment advice. Edge Matrix does not recommend whether to deploy, modify, or discontinue any trading strategy. All trading involves substantial risk. Past performance, whether analyzed or validated, is not indicative of future results. Users are solely responsible for their trading and investment decisions.
MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader Strategy Tester reports in HTML format. Save your backtest report from your trading platform and upload it directly in the app.
Edge Matrix is a web application. It runs in any modern desktop browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or Brave — on Windows, macOS, and Linux. No installation, no downloads, nothing to keep updated. A mobile-optimised version is on the roadmap but not yet available.
Yes — Edge Matrix is a cloud-based web application. All computation (statistical tests, Monte Carlo simulations, Edge Matrix scoring) runs on our servers, so an internet connection is required throughout the session. The benefit: you get consistent performance regardless of your own hardware, and every update is available instantly without needing to re-download anything.
Yes. Because Edge Matrix runs in the cloud, your uploaded backtest file is sent to our servers for analysis. We process the file in an isolated session, compute the statistical outputs, return the results, and do not store your raw data beyond the active session. Individual trade records are not retained after the session ends. For full details, see our privacy policy.
500–1,000 simulations are generally sufficient for exploratory analysis. 5,000–10,000 simulations produce more statistically stable tail-risk estimates. Because computation happens on our servers, larger simulation counts take the same short time regardless of your hardware — typically a few seconds for 10,000 paths. The appropriate number depends on your sample size and the precision you need.
A composite score from 0–100 derived from drawdown correlation analysis and martingale pattern detection across simulations. It measures how consistently the strategy behaves under randomised trade sequencing — a proxy for whether your edge is genuine or depends on lucky ordering.
Note: The score is a statistical reference point, not a performance guarantee. A high score indicates consistency in historical simulation data only — it does not predict live-market outcomes.
Edge Matrix uses MinTRL (Minimum Track Record Length) methodology based on peer-reviewed research to assess whether a sample size is statistically adequate for the number of tests being run. Very small samples (under ~30 trades) will produce low statistical confidence regardless of the results. The app flags low-sample results clearly so you can interpret outputs accordingly.
Edge Matrix is available as a monthly subscription ($79/mo), annual plan ($59/mo billed yearly), Solo plan ($25/mo for a single strategy), or a one-time Lifetime license ($997). All recurring plans include a 7-day free trial. See our pricing page for full details.
When you start a subscription, a payment method is required at signup but your card is not charged until day 8. During the trial, you get full unrestricted access to every feature — run unlimited strategies, export reports, use Compare mode, everything. If the product isn't right for you, cancel any time before day 8 from your account dashboard and you will not be charged.
Yes. You can cancel any time from your account dashboard or by emailing support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access until that date. The Lifetime license is a one-time payment with no recurring charges; no cancellation is needed.
All sales are final. Instead of refunds, every subscription includes a 7-day free trial — your card is authorised on signup but not charged until day 8, giving you a full week to test every feature at no cost. If the product isn't right for you, cancel before day 8 and nothing is charged. See our refund policy for the narrow exceptions we do honor (duplicate charges, billing errors).
Yes — your account is tied to your login, not a specific device. Sign in from any browser on any computer and your session works. For security reasons, concurrent active sessions are limited; signing in on a new device will end sessions on other devices after a short inactivity window. Account sharing across multiple users is not permitted.
